Isn't it funny how dogs have their own little personalities. :-) I could talk about the cutesy, funny things that Naiya does for hours. They are like kids, everything they do is cute or endearing to you. Haha!

Boris lays around on winter mornings.
I have to give him an invigorating rub down so he will get out of bed.
On cold days he will make it to the edge of the doorway and when the air whips his face he turns around and runs for the couch.

So I explained to him, "Boris, you really need to put yourself out there because it's an integral part of being a healthy boy. If you don't do this you won't get any chicken!"

Of course his wrinkly face cocks at the word "chicken" as if I'm offering him some for being a big wuss.

I just read this article now!! What a great read, considering we just had to put our dog Rocky on a diet. I have to keep saying to him : ' but Rocky, we are a fit family!!' haha. My little guy hates dieting too. He will stare at his bowl and kick it around like that will magically put some food into it. And boy, have those little temper tantrums escalated!
Fortunate for me Rocky is loving his morning cardio sessions. He will happily jump out of bed in the morning to get out there, even if it is freezing. He loves to do sprints in the park, or go for a nice long power walk. He will keep going as longs as I want him to. Some mornings I would kill for even half his zest. Maybe I can learn a thing or two from my pooch.

Check out Dr. Harvey's Canine Health.

http://www.drharveys.com/products/show/12-canine-health

Ingredients are great and the best part is that I can visually see every ingredient in Boris's bowl.
No guessing at processed nuggets.

Thanks Margo for commenting. :-) Very true. I agree, things would be so much easier if I didn't love chocolate and pizza, ha. But I guess as we grow we learn, we make mistakes, we learn...and eventually, hopefully, we will get to a place where we say ok I need to do this for me. I want to feel good about my health. So then we don't need our parents or other people to put a lock on the refrigerator door for us. We can take that power ourselves.

PS You rock! ;-)

Very clever and cute! One difference I see between us and pets is that pets don't look in the mirror or get on that scale to tell themselves "Hey, watch it. You need to start working out". They need us to push them, to develop their habits, to take care of them. And we have nobody but us to push ourselves, to help ourselves...Hmm, it made me wonder, how much easier it would have been if my parents "taught" me to not like sweets ;-0
