JC - I have read The Zone book, but do not consciously follow the plan. I think it is important to have a somewhat balanced diet, so that is pretty much what I focus on. I also try to get a wide range of whole foods, so that I can get a wide range of nutrients. I also, believe it or not, do not discriminate against saturated fats (as part of a balanced diet), as new research has shown that saturated fats are not themselves tied to heart disease as was previously believed. Tracey - I aim for 5-10g (5,000-10,000 mg) of fish oil (DHA/EFA) supplements daily. Most nutrition experts recommend aiming for this range in order to reap the benefits. Great question!</description>

I personally like the Zone proportions when I am consuming maintenance calories.  I would say my diet is mostly carb based, however I tend to get a minimum amount of unsaturated and EFA&#039;s daily.</description>
