We are five days into our cross country adventure, headed west to Long Beach. The trip has been fabulous so far.

This has been our itinerary up to this point:
- Day 1 Detroit to St. Louis
- Day 2 St Louis to Kansas City
- Day 3 Kansas City to Colorado Springs
- Day 4 Colorado Springs to Albuquerque
- Day 5 Albuquerque to Sedona
And here are the highlights…
The car is jam PACKED. We also had to ship about 6 BIG boxes of “necessities”.

We had a wonderful visit with Ryan’s brother, Tom, and Matt and Em in St Louis. And then headed out early for Kansas City.
The Carlisle fam. Mike and Nicole were our neighbors when we lived in Royal Oak, Michigan and we spent most weekends with them on their patio. Best neighbors ever. Miss you guys!
Dinner in Kansas City (with Mike and Nicole) was at the Cheesecake Factory…I know, I know, everyone says Kansas City is known for its barbecue, but we love the Cheesecake Factory!
The giant windmills in Kansas.

Almost tear inducing sunset on our way to Colorado Springs.

The “Garden of the Gods” in Colorado Springs.

Interesting cars.

We have been getting our workouts in, either at the local Anytime Fitness, where we have a membership, or at the hotel gym, and have been eating fairly healthy, although in Kansas City we visited Mama’s Diner, as seen on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” on the Food Network, and we all split/had a bite of the fried cinnamon roll. WOW.
We are having a fantastic time and each day, even during the car rides, we are seeing really cool stuff.
- The craziest billboards.
- Hawks the size of small children.
- The windy, hilly roads of New Mexico, particularly around Santa Fe.
We are focusing on fully living in the moment, being present and enjoying every part of the experience.

Today we are off to Sedona, Arizona, which is supposed to be one of the most spiritual places in the country, if not the world.
More updates to come…with more pictures!! We are a bit crunched for time, gotta hit the road! For a more snapshots and updates be sure to check out my Twitter profile and Flickr page.

Fun road trip so far!!
Sounds like a great trip!
I love long trips. I’ve done the here to New Orleans trip twice, here to Arkansas, here to Mississipi, here to Oklahoma. All fun! Here is S. California.
Oh, when you get to Long Beach, look around and wave, maybe you’ll see me!
Hope the rest of the trip is great, too.

Tracey and VeggieGirl – Glad you are enjoying the pics!
Roland – Where are you located in LB? Small world!
I actually live in Orange County, but my work takes me to LB all the time. Also, my parents live in Torrance, and I’m out there quite a bit.
I LOVE Long Beach on a saturday. When I can, I like to do Justin Rudd’s Sand Challenge (sandchallenge.com), then go sit and have coffee and breakfast at some local cafe. Justin’s a great guy, and his bootcamp is really fun and challenging. Highly recommended.
I love the ghetto NY car!!!
