Protein Packed All Natural Cookies

Cookie{Boy}s and Milk

A few weekends ago Ryan and I attended the IDEA World Fitness Convention and while we were there, we stumbled upon heaven. Well, not quite heaven, but close. One of the booths was giving out free yummies, and well… when I noticed that they were cookies, I HAD to get a closer look.

First question: What is a cookie doing at a fitness trade show?

Second question: Is that really a giant cookie-man wearing a superhero costume?

cookieboy Cookie{Boy}s and Milk

Answer 1: Cookie Boy Cookies!!

Answer 2: NO…. it’s a cookie BOY, duh!

The Scoop, I Mean… Dunk

Upon further examination of the label, I found the following. Cookie Boy cookies are no ordinary cookie. They:

  • are all natural with no preservatives
  • contain 14 grams of protein per big cookie (12 grams per small cookie)
  • are made with rolled oats, natural peanut butter, organic sugar, egg whites, whey protein, butter, baking soda, vanilla (may contain raisins, toffee, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, almonds, or pecans depending on the type of cookie)
  • contain no flour or salt
  • are REALLY dense and moist

Naturally Ryan and I asked for a couple samples. icon wink Cookie{Boy}s and Milk Wow, these cookies are fantastic. This coming from a past-life cookie connoisseur. Fantastic flavor. Again, I love how dense they are. Chewy. Delicious.

So it got me thinking… what’s my favorite way to eat a cookie? I used to be a big dunker. I would hold the cookie in the milk and let it soak up all the milky softness. Then when I was done enjoying my cookie…(s), I would drink the milk and uncover hidden gems of cookie goodness at the bottom of my cup. These days, my strategy is a bit different.

First of all, if I eat cookies, which is rare, I typically crumble about half of a cookie over the top of some frozen yogurt (or coconut milk ice cream) OR if I do eat a cookie with milk, it would most likely be with almond milk (as pictured). I love the fact that Cookie Boy cookies are made with high quality, natural ingredients.

My Cautions

Since they do contain sugar, I would still save them for special treats, rather than eating them on a daily basis. Also, be sure to note that the ingredients label on the larger cookies says “contains two servings” so if you are going to eat the whole cookie, double the calories, etc. OR you can opt for their new cookie called “Energy Boy” with contains less calories and sugar than the original.

MMM!!! Good excuse to eat a cookie!!

I try and savour cookies by taking small bites and then drinking some milk AFTER they are in my mouth… I hate to waste any cookie by getting its crumbs in the milk =P. The flavor saturates my mouth as they moisten!!

Thanks for sharing… I love getting the vegan, non dairy, wheat etc. ones at our local health food store…not sure they have as much protein as these, but they are organic. Where can I get some of these?
I love eating my cookies slowly snacking on it out of the bag, I feel it lasts longer and I enjoy it more because it takes longer to eat.(usually while i am doing errands by myself!)

I’m such a dunker. Growing up my dad would NEVER let us dunk cookies b/c it made a mess but as soon as I moved out I savored every dunking moment!

It depends on the type of cookie as how I eat it. This type of cookie would require a drink of milk with each bite. That goes good with nuts and chocolate chips in cookies.
yummy, yummy let eat cookies!!!!!!

I like savoring the cookie….taking my time, nibbling away. Either a glass of fat free milk or cold water on the side! (I’ve just never been a dunker!)

Can’t wait to try these sometime! I really like the idea of increased protein to help keep my blood sugar more balanced!

I would choose a cookie over any other dessert item. I will eat any cookie, but my all time favorite is the classic chocolate chip. The more chips the better.
I have tried dunking before, but I prefer to eat the cookie and wash it down with a big gulp of cold milk.

My favorite way to eat a cookie has to be “hands down” with a cup of coffee in the winter.

I know this will gross most people out but since I’m not a milk drinker, I love to dunk chocolate chip cookies in orange juice.

My favorite way to eat a cookie is after a hard day of work. I mean physical work. My dad use to own a portable sawmill that he used to fall hazard trees for private landowners and mill the timber into lumber and sell. My brother and I would help him after school and on weekends. We would pile branches, stack lumber, and restack lumber. In addition we split a lot of firewood. While my brother and I did all of the physical labor, my sister stayed home and took care of the house.. You would say that she was the homemaker. I think that she felt guilty for not helping working with us and repayed us with chocolate chip cookies that were bomb!!! I remember comming inside for water and she would just hand me a cookie and I scarffed it down right there chasing it with a large glass of cold water.

Cookies and coffee or green tea! Baking cookies in the winter and then sharing them is the best way to enjoy cookies.

I am a cookie dunker and it’s got to be in super cold milk. But then hot tea is tasty too.

But my most favorite way to eat them is to crumble them up in fage greek yogurt; so creamy – a little bit naughty and a lot of good!

With soft chewy ones like this, I like to take small bites, and really take my time to savour the flavour…

Yummm cookies…

When I eat a cookie, I usually break off and eat the sides and save the soft, chewy middle for last.

And now I want a cookie.

I love cookies with decaf black tea or Inka. I don’t dip, but I take a bite and then a sip while the bite is still in my mouth. That way I get the crunch or chew of the cookie AND the gooey dipped-cookie goodness.

Big glass of ice cold milk then i would drown the cookie in the milk and those cookies look like they would be very good that way

I’m not a dunker but enjoy a soft choco chip cookie with a nice, cold glass of moo. Oh yeah.

You know…I just like to eat cookies in general….by themselves or maybe with some ice cream. I’ve never tried the coconut milk ice cream that you mentioned, but it sounds like a great alternative.

I used to work in a bagel store and we’d send cookies through the toaster… YUM! Won’t have them any other way now. (Note that that prevents me from eating them very often too.) :)

I like to eat cookies slow and enjoy every bit. Usually part broken into pieces with icecream or pudding and the rest just pure cookie. But I enjoy dunking too.

Pretty sure there isn’t a cookie I don’t like. It’s a rule to eat at least one hot out of the oven when baking my own and who can forget the joys of cookie dough?! (great when added with the baked cookie pieces to icecream and pudding too)

I know this is for US residents only but I just need to say that I’m definitely a cookie boy. Cookies with milk of course. I don’t mind eating cookies once in a while since I workout every day. That’s the treat you can give you self of you move your butt regularly .

Pierre – The contest was for US residents, however you can place an order directly with Cookie Boy if you are interested in giving the cookies a try.

These cookies looks amazing to me! Unfortunately, baking cookies is really dangerous for me, because I always end up eating half the dough before the cookies are even in the oven! For those cookies that do make it all the way through the baking process, I love to eat plain and warmed up. I love to savor each and every bite!

Katie December 30, 2009 at 3:56 PM

Apparently my favorite way to eat cookies is in raw dough form…I can’t remember the last time I made it to an actual cooked one without eating half a dozen balls of dough first!
