Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Gavan and Christy - I agree re: Western medicine. I have come to believe that for acute issues like a broken bone or a heart attack, for sure going to the hospital or an M.D. is the way to go. But for longer-term health issues like diabetes, depression, inability to sleep, heartburn, high cholesterol, etc I think there are other ways to help treat these symptoms that will eliminate the root cause, rather than just slapping a bandaid over it (or a blindfold) with prescription medication. I'm not saying that *ALL* M.D.s are of the bandaid mentality, but my own personal experience has often been this way. PS Wait til you go to Harmonic Wealth Weekend, James teaches/talks about muscle testing there.

Missy - That was a huge "aha" for me too, re: research data. It makes so much sense as to why scientists are often coming up with conflicting data. And to take that a step further, that also makes so much sense as to why some people can eat red meat, eggs, drink wine or coffee, or whatever and feel great and live to 100, while others get high cholesterol, and feel horrible.

To me, this just makes sense as far as everyone having different constitutions. I mean, I have always taken scientific studies with a grain of salt because I know that some of the findings are not true for ME. They may be for all the participants. Most things are based on ones genetic makeup (or constitution!)

I hope the acupuncture works! I am like you in that I'll try anything if it works!

Looking forward to finding out what foods are no-no's! We share the digestion issue, though since I've eliminated coffee I've been feeling great. I've only tried acupuncture once, but I am a firm believer in holistic medicine. I feel holistic medicine treats the root of the issues vs. the symptoms. Plus, I'm not a pill popper unless it's my last resort and Western medicine tends to jump on those prescription pads immediately. Ok, that's good for pain meds like when you get your wisdom teeth pulled but...

Sheila, can't wait to hear more about this! I've been thinking about it ever since we discussed at Starbucks a few weeks ago, so I'm really interested to hear more and about your progress with Dr. Kim.

Great read Sheila. I'm a big proponent on acupuncture and have been for at least the last 10 years or so. I initially got it for a shoulder injury I had and even after just a couple of sessions I was feeling much better. It's amazing how much these alternative doctors can see and 'feel' from you with just a few tests.
I've heard of this form of acupuncture before but haven't experienced it.....yet.
I think it's very naive of people to assume that Western medicine has all the answers especially considering how far back Eastern practices date. I have had the muscle testing done before and was really fascinated by what was said. I definitely found out some interesting things about myself. Diet, as we now know, is crucial to our well being so I'm very interested to see how you get on with your next visit.
Good on you for having an open mind.

Wow, this is interesting when you open your mind up to the possibility of something different. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your experience.
